We intend to extend our BIBA research team. We are looking for a Research Associate / PhD student.

Job Description:
The Production Systems and Logistic Systems group investigates the topological structure and the dynamic behavior of complex manufacturing systems and logistic networks. The tasks include:
  • realization of a research project on the use of Stochastic Block Models as a forecasting method for the development of logistic systems (including literature work, modeling, development and implementation of solution procedures, statistical analyses, etc.)
  • documentation and publication of results
  • support for the development of the research profile of the group
 
Your Profile:
  • above average master degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Management, or similar subjects
  • advanced knowledge (or motivation and ability to learn) in the areas of statistics, complex networks and graphs, data analytics, machine learning
  • basic knowledge in supply chain and logistics
  • programming skills (preferably Python and/or Matlab)
  • structured and independent worker, excellent knowledge of German and English (written and spoken), team player

We intend to extend our BIBA Serious Games research team. We are looking for a researcher (Computer Scientist or Electronic Engineering) for the period 1.4.2016 - 31.12.2018 for the EU H2020 project „Beaconing“ (temporary postition longer than 6 months)
 
Job description:
 
Beaconing is an innovation action project funded by the EU in H2020. The BEACONING demonstrator will be a platform to facilitate, assess and author contextualised, gamified and personalised learning activities (i.e. lesson plan), integrating existing educational tools and services specific to the participating organisations. BIBA is involved in requirement elicitation as well as in the design and testing of the gamified platform. Your main focus will be to contribute to the conceptualisation, design, implementation and testing of the gaming platform as well as component integration. Furthermore, you will support in the requirement elicitation process.
 
Qualification:
  • Master of Science in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Object-oriented Programming (C#/C++ and API integration)
  • Experience in agile software development (e.g. SCRUM)
  • Excellent understanding of software architecture, design and test-driven programming
  • First experience with usage and development of sensor-based technologies
  • Basic knowledge of VR und AR
  • Ability to work in a structured and independent way, good team work skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English, C1 in German.
 
Our Team:
  • We are a multi-disciplinary team (STEM and economics) working on different topics related to serious gaming and game-based learning in production and logistics. We are involved in national and international projects as well as teaching at the University of Bremen.
 
Remarks:
